Z Art Space is proud to present Come As You Remember, a benefit group exhibition for the Art For Healing Foundation, featuring the works of 10 emerging and mid-career Canadian artists: Andréanne Abbondanza-Bergeron, Sarah Bertrand-Hamel, Brandon Dalmer, Anne-Renée Hotte, Amélie Jodoin, Alexia McKindsey, Katie McDonald, Megan Moore, Sarah Tompkins, and Zhang He. Ranging from paintings and drawings to photography, the works gathered in this exhibition highlight a spectrum of dynamic and boundary-defying contemporary art practices today; at the heart of their artistic pursuits lies fundamental themes of memory, collectivity, and our intimate relationship with nature. 

 

Coinciding with the start of the festive holidays season, Come As You Remember is an invitation to rekindle with nostalgic and ephemeral moments, and share the warmth of hope: on the one hand, it is emblematic of the philanthropic nature of the project, which will be donating 50% of sales proceeds to the Art For Healing Foundation; on the other hand, it is synonymous with the Foundation’s goodwill initiative over the last 20 years to strengthen the sense of wellbeing and togetherness through the meditative role of art. From Jodoin’s playful surrealist compositions, to Dalmer’s electrifying canvases, to Bertrand-Hamel’s meticulous interventions of paper, the public is invited to discover and celebrate a plethora of engaging art practices, while contributing towards the parallel building of our artistic and healthcare communities.

The Art for Healing Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring the healing power of art to hospitals and wellness facilities, transforming public and patient areas into inspiring environments that encourage a sense of serenity and hope for patients, their families, and healthcare providers. Since 2002, the Foundation has installed over 13,500 works of art in 90 healthcare institutions in Quebec, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia and Paris, France.
